About Me

Hi, my name is Christina Austine. I am a not-average, homeschooled high school student. What do I mean, "not-average"? Well, for one thing, I play viola. For another, I really like school. Like, I LOVE school!  And for a third, I especially like math and science. In fact, I am even looking at a career centered around math and science!  Let me explain a bit more about myself.

First of all, music. I play violin, viola, piano, and folk harp. Plus, I occasionally play with my dad's instruments, including guitar and mandolin. I have had opportunities to get to try out playing on an organ, a harpsichord, and several viola da gamba instruments. I also teach violin. I enjoy playing solo and orchestral music, but if I had to pick a favorite way to play music, it would definitely be chamber music! I have several years of experience playing violin/viola in a string quartet and a double quartet. I really enjoy just getting to play really awesome music with my friends! And, if you are a fan of playing chamber music, check out these websites:

Now, for school, math, and science. Well, I guess for me it's pretty simple. I just LOVE learning, and the school books I am using are working really well for me! I enjoy building and designing things, with materials ranging from Legos and K'nex to cardboard and Styrofoam. I like history, math, and science. Oh, and those high school Biology dissections? They were so much fun! My brother AJ is training to be a biology professor. So, the summer before I took biology, we were like, "AJ will be home. He's a biologist. Let's have him coach the dissections!" Honestly, it was a lot of fun to see what animals look like inside, and it was pretty neat to do it with AJ.

My family has two pets: a part-Manx gray tabby kitten named Sir Bentley, who we adopted just before Christmas, and a yellow Labrador retriever, who does NOT retrieve :D, named Holland II -- but we just call her Holly. Both of them are SUPER sweet and loving, and great pets!

In addition, I enjoy photography, poetry, gardening, and art.
