Thoughts from May 8: An Adventure "Owl" Never Forget

      Dear Readers,

     Last Sabbath, Dad and I were out for a walk in our woods. We kept hearing this sound! At first I thought it sounded like kids playing down at the road, but then it came again and it was more like an animal. We kept hearing it from the same spot. Then I looked up...

... and saw this! It took me a moment, but I finally realized that the squirrel nest I was staring at was an owl!

     He (or she) was right above us! We went inside to call Mom to come look, but by the time she came, the owl was gone. It was very big, so we wondered if it was a female. A couple of weeks ago, we had seen and heard two owls flying around at the edge between the forest and our back yard. I wonder if they are a pair and have a nest nearby? I would love to see baby owls! My cousin has been spending a lot of time in our woods, and the past several nights she has heard the owls hunting. I wish they didn't eat the little critters, but I love the owls too!

     Have a blessed Sabbath evening and a wonderful week!

     Bye,

“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
    and my thoughts than your thoughts.
As the rain and the snow
    come down from heaven,
and do not return to it
    without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so is my word that goes out from my mouth:
    It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
    and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Isaiah 55:9-11, NIV

Wash and make yourselves clean.
    Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
    stop doing wrong.
Learn to do right; seek justice.
    Defend the oppressed.
Take up the cause of the fatherless;
    plead the case of the widow.
"Come now, let us settle the matter,"
says thLord.
"Though your sins are like scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson,
they shall be like wool.

Isaiah 1:16-18, NIV
